Grant Barnett

Grant

Grant says that he doesn’t follow a training plan because they’re too time-restrictive, so he just runs when he can, however far or long he can.  To make commitments with no excuses, he registers for races as training runs!  Although he says running is the one sport that comes naturally to him, he only took up running on the treadmill in 2011 and ran his first 5k race nearly 2 years later, having never been off the treadmill before.  He ran his first half marathon in 2013, first full in 2014, and by the end of 2015 will have completed 8 marathons with a BQ for Boston 2017, his first 50k, and about a couple dozen half marathons, but the only way he keeps track of them is his medal rack.

Grant lives in the High Desert of So-Cal with his “running widow” wife and 6- and 9-year old sons, and is a board member of the High Desert Runners club.  He loves pacing as a way to help others reach their goals and for the unique challenges it brings him as well.  He hopes to see you in his pace group at your next race!
