John has enjoyed running most of his life and always thought of running a marathon one day. In 2014 he developed chronic IT Band Syndrome while training for his first marathon. For almost a year he was unable to run more than a couple miles without severe knee pain. He was determined to not let IT Band Syndrome keep him from his joy of running and was committed to find a way to overcome it. He not only found a way to overcome it but went on to complete 19 marathons in a year. He created www.ITBandSyndrome.com as a resource to help others. He runs because it’s an exercise that can be done almost anytime anywhere and always makes you feel good. He paces because he enjoys group runs and loves meeting people that also share a passion for running.
