Richard Garn

Rich is an administrator and Associate Professor at the University of Arizona.  He began his running career in 1982 with his first race being the Chicago Marathon.  He has been an avid runner and multisport athlete since.   An active member in a local running club, and a cycling and tri club he competed in over 25 events last year, to include the National Long Distance Duathlon Championships for which he was selected to represent the United States as a member of Team USA for the world competition in Zofingen, Switzerland.

He has reached that point in his professional and running career that he now dedicates more time to supporting others in meeting their goals, by volunteering and advocating for events, and pacing others to meet their goals.

Rich’s goals for this year include 2 marathons , 2 ultra marathons, a 70.3 mile Ironman Triathlon, the Skyrunning National Championships in Flagstaff, AZ and the Duathlon National Championships in Bend, OR.
